Proven Transformer Asset Care Since 2006

As early as 2006, PTss demonstrated through live field application that moisture mitigation in power transformers can be achieved online, without shutdown, while delivering measurable improvements in insulation health.

A 33/11 kV, 10/12.5 MVA power transformer at 33/11 kV Substation, Sector-17, Chandigarh underwent Online Transformer Dry-Out, with results that remain directly relevant to today’s asset management priorities.

Why this matters:

Moisture is a silent accelerator of transformer ageing. This case study validated nearly two decades ago that online dry-out is not merely maintenance, but a strategic reliability lever supporting life extension, deferred capital expenditure, and improved network availability.

CXO Strategic Takeaway:

Investing in condition-based, online life-extension technologies delivers reliability dividends far exceeding their cost without disrupting operations.

Encouraging outcomes achieved within 10 days:

Oil moisture: 35–40 ppm → <10 ppm (Main Tank & OLTC)
Cellulose insulation moisture: >4% (very wet) → 2.0%
Top-oil Relative Saturation (%RS): ~40% (critical) → <5%, evidencing restoration of insulation equilibrium
Polarization Index (PI): Consistent improvement across HV–E, LV–E, and HV–LV, indicating effective moisture removal
BDV: Improvement observed
